Oscar Fever

With the Oscars closing in it I thought it would be a good time to present you with 8-Bit Factions top five films of 2009.
#5: Sherlock Holmes – why you say, well its only THE best detective film since the Dark Knight. Fantastic story, well paced, great cast & brilliant visuals. If you dont believe me check it out.

#4: The Hurt Locker – This film shows how f**ked up the world can be & to what lengths people will go to get a ‘fix’. Fantastic film that’ll get your heart racing.

#3: Drag Me To Hell – Sam Raimi goes back to what made him famous – HORRORS! Its as scary as hell but also is ingected with the dark slapstic humour from Evil Dead 3. My only complaint with this film was – WHY NO CAMEO FROM BRUCE CAMPBEL!!??

#2: Moon – I cannot praise this British film enough. A fantastic story with alot of emotion too it and such a great performance from Sam Rockwell. Bravo.

and at number 1, THE MUST SEE FILM OF 2009… (send the hate main to the usual e-mail address)… is….

#1: Inglourious Basterds – This film just blew me away. Yes there are some ‘flaws’ or bits to pick at like – its not what the trailer promised or its 80% subtitled or its not historically acurate . BUT the story fantastic, brilliant cast (with some having to speak in 3 different languages). There are films that can have you on the edge of your seat when your watching a car chase or an action scene, but if your kept on the edge of your seat through just dialogue (the conversations between two people) alone then that is an achievement and this film does just that (check out the bar scene with the undercover agents and the SS officer).

Well that was it. You can leave your thoughts or even leave your top 5′s/10′s below.
