Its CREATIVE FAILS 1 year anniversay week! So, a special occasion calls for a special review! 8-bit chris takes you on a walk through of one of his favourite Japanese films. Enjoy
Word up peeps. Just a little heads up to anyone who hasn’t seen The Wire, truly one of the greatest things to grace our daily screens of worship…and if you don’t believe me perhaps Charlie Brooker can convince you instead.
Transporter 2 is a decent movie, there… I said it. There’s nothing glaringly wrong with this action packed romp starring Jason Statham, but “The Problem with…” series doesn’t just focus on terrible movies, it likes to expose the weaker elements of otherwise good films.
In this video you will see that the highlighted weak point in this movie is the film makers belief that CGI enhanced stunts were a necessity, unfortunately they stand out like a sore thumb and distance the audience from the film. The opposite happens when a “real” car chase or stunt occurs. The modern day audience is so attune to spotting CGI elements that trying to interchange a live cation scene with a computer generated counterpart would rarely look seamless, but that’s just my opinion! Hopefully Transporter 4 will nail it.
Transporter 3 anyone ?
Big thanks to 8-Bit Chris for the usage of his head.

At the end of last month I was in dire need of some project management software, something that can log the hours I work on particular projects and enable me to keep tabs on when jobs needed to be completed. My initial search took me to various high end packages with a high end price tag, many providing me with invoice templates, graphs and a whole list of features I would probably never use.
A later search took me to the Collabtive home page ( http://collabtive.o-dyn.de/ ). Instantly I was sold by the words “Open source”, I would be a fool not to at least give it a whirl. I installed the software on some old web space, I found the installation straight forward but you would need to be familiar with creating a MySQL database.
My initial reaction was “Wow, this is free?”. The interface was neat, tidy and non-intrusive. I didn’t really need a manual as the various tabs and sections worked as expected. in the Projects tab I can create a new project, clicking on the project name gives me the options to set reminders, messages and start recording times. In short it was perfect for my needs and supported multiple users for the rest of the team.
Whether you have multiple projects on the go at work (for whatever industry), or whether you’re juggling too many balls in your home projects, the Collabtive project management software certainly gets a recommendation from me.
The Sims series are games for everyone, it seems that all types of gamers find something of interest and the latest venture into Pleasentville doesn’t disappoint. I’ve always enjoyed this particular genre ever since being granted the ability to fashion planets to my liking in Populous.
Similar to previous titles, The Sims 3 sees you creating, designing and nurturing your Sim family, however where the third incarnation stands above its predecessors is the ability to explore the entire town and directly interact with other AI controlled families and community lots.
The game is massive and dripping with originality, the whimsicle musical score is delightfuly innocent and sets the mood of the game very well. below are images of my “Fail Family”:

8-Bit Chris' Sim has the "Inappropriate" trait
I would definitely recommend this title, particularly to gamers that find they can only claim a few scattered minutes of game time a week. The game never ends, always changes and your little interventions into your Sim world can produce unexpected results. The Sims 3 is solid, time wasting fun
